Aiming for a Fair Voting System (Japanese Translation)
One of the proposed methods is Rage Quitting, where a proposal must gain support from the community and enter a grace period during which voters can withdraw their support. If sufficient support is not obtained during this stage, the proposal is discarded. However, this voting process is lengthy and may not be feasible for all DAOs. Conviction Voting, a concept originating from the Commons Stack community, is also being considered. In this method, voters can increase their "conviction" or confidence in a proposal by locking their tokens for a longer period of time. Once a certain level of conviction is reached, the proposal is approved. This is similar to Staking in a way. The advantages of Conviction Voting include the prevention of majority suppression of minority preferences and the ability for token holders to focus on proposals that are most important to them, without the need for consensus on specific proposals. However, the drawback is that it may take a long time to reach a conclusion, making it less effective for time-sensitive decision-making.
There is also mention of Holographic Consensus, which is similar to the concept of a Prediction market. Additionally, there is a desire to create a Polless system for the consensus mechanism in DAOs.
